    Basic Training Centre (BTC), Chenga (Government Institution) is a Govt. school established in 1964. Our school focuses on creating a friendly environment and providing quality teaching and learning. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum enhanced with a wide range of extracurricular activities, including many sports and practical music programs.

The institution has been recognized by NCTE for conducting D.El.Ed. course in the                                                                                   year 2015-16

                                    Institutional Profile of the BTC CHENGA

The Basic Training Centre, chenga is located in a remote rural minority dominated area. It is 64 kms for away from Guwahati and 20 kms far away from the district head quarter Barpeta. Most significantly it is situated nearby a lateral road and 7 kms far away from mighty river Brahmaputra. This institution was established with a view to provide professional training and guidance to the working teacher especially to the teachers hailed from remote chor areas and who are belong to the minority Muslim Community. It has been not only imparting training to the lower primary teachers of Barpeta District to accelerate the professional efficiency but also the teachers of the adjacent district namely, Bangaigaon and Nalbari District.

            The BTC Chenga Came into existence in the year of 1964 by the persistent affords of Lt. F.A. Ahmed the former president of India who had inaugurated the Institution. It is the only Govt. Institution of Assam where the poor peasants of this locality donated their valuable land in order to bring up the Institution in existence. It is an important fact that at present more than 3000 untrained LP Teacher is there in Barpeta District. The number may he increased after provincilation of more lower primary school in Barpeta district of late. It prominently indicates to activate BTC Chenga, well equipped with require necessary infrastructure facilities for which a renovative approach is required.

            The institution which is completed 50years possesses two plot of land comprising 27th bighas 1kotha 10lesa of its own land. It measures 3,93,120 sq. ft 36,520 sq. mtr in area. The playground measuring( 85mtr X 85mtr) is isolated by narrow distance by 120 mtr from the main building complex. Around its building complex there is a pucca RCC wall which is coved 24,939.72 mtr sq. by 2,68,351.39 sq. ft building up area. It possesses to class room with 100 sitting capacity in each hall. Apart from this in the administrative building office room, computer room, separate toilets in one roof. It also possesses a combined hostel measuring 4,333.46 sq. ft where is 80 male and 80 female boards can be accommodated. In the hostel separate toilet, kitchen and water facilities are available. It also possesses a multipurpose hall where in prayer, general meeting, seminars are held.

            The institution has required infrastructure facilities such as desk bench, furniture and utensils for both hostels, black board, type writer, duplicating machine, computers, play materials, library books, laboratory equipments, musical instruments etc. It also possesses the experienced and qualified academic staff. To post of teachers-educators are lying vacant. The process of requirement is going on in the office of the director SCERT Assam. The Deputy Commissioner, Barpeta assured me to provide web-site for the BTC chenga after general election. It is just crystal clear that the institution for a long period of 50 years are being perpetrated professional training to the teachers of the lower primary level which ensures qualitative change of the teachers. It is more enthustic that more than 5000 teachers are being trained up in this institution. We are confident our commitment to bring up qualitatively competent teachers in the society and our staunchness efforts will lead us to fulfill aspiration of the people. We are also providing academic support to our nearly school teachers to enhance their teaching skills. The everlasting process will be continued.
